Project 8 Landbeach
The Impression Display Home in Butler was a house to intrigue the ‘young couples’, the design had to be modern, sophisticated and functional. By creating lines of desire design the viewer gets pulled out from the house and into the landscape into an entertaining alfresco area, which has an open plan surrounded by raised planter boxes and seating, water features and grassed areas.
To create such a garden a minimalistic approach had to come to the table. Though by creating a minimalistic garden, sophistication has to be high otherwise the design would fail and the intention would fade. This was achieved by using unique lines for the undercover decking, a combination of paving and stones and plants that complimented the materials used in the hardscapes.
The left-side of the house was designed to be a second access point for entertaining purposes. By using a symmetrical idea, we incorporated two different types of stones being basalt and rainbow stone. This created a high contrast which was well balanced by the Agave’s in ‘earthy’ pots. This draws the line of site down the path and into the large entertaining area.
